Loch

Made it to St. Mary's Loch on my bike before the rain started. My plan was to go up around the road that goes around Arthur's Seat but I chickened out and just cycled back home. Still it was about 4 miles in total which is quite satisfactory.

Today was mainly food based, deciding on veal sirloins out of the freezer we needed to find suitable accompaniments and having decided on an Italian theme there was a medley of summer vegetables which meant courgette, aubergine, potato, red pepper, onion and garlic in a bit of a ratatouille style and a broad bean and pancetta risotto. The veal was cooked saltimbocca style which basically meant with sage leaves and a pice of air dried ham pinned to the steak whilst it was pan fried, genius idea :)

All this meant trips out to various shopping establishments and we managed Tattie Shaws for the veg, Valvona & Crolla for some wine and other expensive things, and some fish from the market at picardy place.

Refuge had to be taken in Joseph Pearce at one point as the rain really pelted down briefly, contrasting with the blazing sunshine an hour or so earlier but that's to be expected from a British Summer I suppose.

After the dinner and dessert of baked cheese with crusty bed there was very little movement in the Wade household for the rest of the night.
