Hello, Blippers! I apologise for the prolonged absence but we have found the netbook has had very limited access to Wi-Fi so I haven't even looked at your blips, let alone comment or post. B has intervened, at great expense of time, to improve matters.

Moreover, in Monterey, a couple of my photos were flagged 'not recorded' and the whole memory card followed suit - clever B managed to rescue the photos but the first week's worth of holiday snaps are all jumbled up with previous blips and stuff and I won't have time to fiddle with them to backblip until home. I'm using the spare card now.

However, the holiday has reached the halfway point and we have spent the afternoon in Zion Canyon in Zion National Park, having driven from Las Vegas, where we left B&S to have fun for a couple of days without their oldies dragging behind before they fly home and back to work, poor things. Kalamazoo, San Francisco, Yosemite, the California coast and the Grand Canyon were all spiffing in their way.

We proceed tomorrow via Bryce Canyon to Salt Lake City and from there fly to Vancouver to visit Bellingham and Vancouver Island. After that our plans have changed owing to extensive flood damage on the route to Banff; we have heard little news on our journey (all we get is high profile court cases, nothing like the BBC) but did know of problems in the Calgary area and recent heavy rain forecast. Looking forward to cooler temperatures anyway, the car recorded 107F briefly the other day.

So that's all for now, I'll blip again when I can.

C, I hope to see you as planned on Thursday!

*Weeping Rock is where water from springs drips over a ledge; I'm standing behind the drips.
