Aviation . . . Lana Del Rey

Jen and I had our walk at Founders Historic Village in Nelson.  We didn't know  what this plane was and went inside it and watched a video about it's history.  I didn't expect to watch the film all the way through but we were fascinated by it.  It is a Bristol Freighter and  was the last of the Bristol model freighters flying in the Straits Air Freight Express (SAFE) Fleet.  It flew freight across Cook Straight from 1947 to 1983.  The plane opened up at the front to load the cargo.
