Surprise

We did a little seed experiment in class. Some seeds were put in the sunlight and some were left in the dark. What would happen? One boy got a bit teary and emotional when he realized his cup was going to be covered up. Of course they were going to die! Everyone could see seedlings sprouting in the cups near the window, and today we uncovered the other ones. Gasps of amazement! They had sprouted in the dark! How could this be?
