York Minster

This is a side view of the York Minster (and cathedral)--about as full as one as is possible from the ground (actually I was about half a meter up a fence to get a bit more height). It's merged from two horizontals in Photoshop, with a good bit of transforming using the warp option to straighten the contours. We had taken a 75 minute tour, with one of the many volunteer guides--ours was superb. It is a fascinating building in every respect. (The statue of Constantine which I blipped yesterday looks tiny in the middle.)

In early afternoon we took a short train ride to Scarborough on the coast, to begin a three-day birding tour. We had a short outing in the late afternoon, on which the only bird of note was a very distant honey buzzard (not exactly a photo op).
