Billy Goat

Waiting for some action

Quite early in the morning (actually not that long after 7) and lots of people standing around staring out to sea for signs of birds coming to the shore.
It was after 8.30 that it started to get busy with knot, black tailed godwits and oyster catchers wheeling around as the breakfast bar shrunk with the advance of the tide. One of the RSPB wardens reckoned there are 45,000 knot and about 10,000 other birds here.
We then went to a hide to warm up and drink our tea.
Grey and wet this afternoon so crib and cake now after lighting the fire.
