Is it a helix...

or just a spiral staircase?

This sits within a now empty former art shop/gallery on the High Street in Aberdour. I don't know the history of the shop but I just liked the shape of the staircase and the colour and tone of the tiles, spoiled somewhat by the plastic electrical conduit winding it's way around the place. It reminds me of the 'wally closes' that are still around in Glasgow, although this is not quite so exotic.

Here is another example of a spiral staircase, although this one will definitely drive you round the twist.
