Free fennel

My first foray this visit to the local Sainsbury* and the checkout person had no code for fennel and the person sent to find a price couldn’t help and so it was decreed that the fennel was free, but „shhhhh, don’t tell anyone“ so the lady who was „paying“ for the free fennel used her outside voice to announce that fennel was free.
I was so tempted to go and find the fennel so that I could also benefit from Sainsbury‘s give away.

* other supermarkets may be available but this one is literally** a hop skip and a jump from my parents

** and yes, I do mean it in the literal sense of the word
