A Sunshiny Day

It always brightens up a Monday morning to have brunch with a friend in The Ivy on  the Square. It brightens the day up even more if the sun is shining and so this morning was positively glowing when these two elements coalesced.


The restaurant wasn’t busy and we were allowed to linger longer than usual. You might wonder what we have to talk about since we meet up every month, but it seems we had much to discuss from the technicalities of adjusting futuristic central heating controls to suspect rugby results and the dire bus service in town. It all made for an entertaining backdrop to the lattes and toast.

With the sun still shining after lunch, I made a quick circuit of Marchmont where the pile driver in Marchmont Road is still working overtime. I hope the residents nearby get a reduction in their council tax for having had to put up with the noise since the summer.
