Burns Afternoon
For the second time year running there was a Burns lunch in Glendaruel Village Hall,, something Cathleen pioneered last year and from which I blipped an almost identical shot.
It was essentially the local community listening to a few songs, enjoying some fiddle tunes from Bill Carlow and a poem or two from me whilst eating a good meal (which of course included some haggis) and having a dram or a glass or two of red wine.
In other words it was a nice simple way of celebrating the bard, and a good antidote to the many more formal Burns suppers I have attended over many years.
