Not quite a Waterloo Sunset

It’s from Waterloo Bridge, looking east. The sun had already disappeared behind a bank of cloud as we made our way across the bridge to the Southbank, Wagamama and the Royal Festival Hall to see and listen to Transatlantic Sessions.

The last time we saw them live was in February 2020, the last concert before the pandemic. We missed them last year being as we were in California. A fine performance from some consummate musicians who I’ve waxed lyrical about before.

Today was a distraction for Susan, a much needed break from the previous days. She had seen an article about the London Canal Museum at Kings Cross and suggested we went there. It was a good move, a very informative and well laid out museum that we didn’t know anything about.

From there we walked to the Royal Festival Hall eating at Wagamama for the first time. I must say we rather enjoyed the food if not the hard seats.

We’re now sitting on the 23.25 train for Bearsted which gets in around 00.41 tomorrow morning. The last train down from the smoke.
