It was almost impossible to walk from Cockenzie to Seton Sands in some places at high tide this afternoon. The footpath from Prestonpans past the former power station site was high up enough to escape the force of the waves but beyond the harbour the footpath was being bombarded with stones being thrown over as waves made it impossible to walk. The immense power of the waves battering the walls was phenomenal even appearing to be higher than the buildings at the end of Port Seton Links. Although it was a calm day with almost no wind, it must be impressive, but terrifying, when there is stormy weather and a spring tide.
