Bramham Screens
This is the point that Bramham Beck passes under the main road through the village - what used to be ‘The Great North Road’…it emerges the other side of the road to wind its way among the houses - I did add an extra a couple of days ago showing it running past some houses…the level today was similar to that shot.
These ‘screens’ catch the flotsam that washes down with flood water - and periodically Yorkshire Water come and clear out the rubbish.
There is a flood monitoring station here - I checked the level when I took the photo and it was showing as 0.9m - that is over the ‘alert’ level of 0.75. It normally babbles along at around 0.3m
In the last couple of hours it has fallen to 0.85.
