Noisy and aggressive ...
... are words often used to describe the Noisy Miner, a common honeyeater of Eastern Australia. I photographed this one today in a banksia tree in a friend's garden.
Australians generally don't like Noisy Miners. I suspect they dislike their noisy and aggressive behaviour. Which is just a little odd, since many Australians seem quite happy for sports people and others in public life to be noisy and aggressive. This is just one of life's little mysteries.
