On Some Days

Anchor Me . . . The Mutton Birds

. . . Anchor me, anchor me
As the compass turns
And the glass it falls
Where the storm clouds roll
And the gulls they call
Anchor me, anchor me, anchor me
Anchor me
In the middle of your deep blue sea, anchor me
Anchor me . . .

This morning we drove to Picton to visit with our friend Sean on his vessel Wakakura.    Sean and his partner Maria run the charter company we go with on our Fiordland adventures.  The background to save me typing.  It is being stripped back and outfitted with a new interior and the superstructure at the front will also be modified which is a complex set of tasks.  Wakakura means training boat.
My blip has rust for rustycrapp whose journal has been lacking rust lately :-)  Sean saw several large anchors like this one in a scrap yard and made the owners an offer for four of them.  He will take this back to Fiordland and it will be sunk as a mooring for the boat.  I couldn't resist an extra of looking down on the foredeck from the bridge.      I think I am using the correct nautical terms.
