The Zone of Interest

Out to Norwich quite early and walked into the Forum Millennium Library - there is a row of desks along the windows which are great places to sit and study. I had some writing to try to finish and I did quite well. I also took out plenty more books for my current project on the forthcoming GCSE Natural History. Lunch from M&S, the met my son and in to watch Jonathan Glazer's new film 'The Zone of Interest' at Cinema City. The film focusses on the everyday life of the Commandant of Auschwitz, which sits over the wall from the family home. The sound design and occasional touches have the horror revealed but never shown. The start and end were really creative and the whole film was very powerful. Recommended. Back to my daughter's and then home to have an evening of football and other usual weekend rituals.
