Trixie's Adventures

Mud, mud, glorious mud!

Went through the Hermitage this morning. OMG! You wouldn't believe how muddy it was. This photo was taken at the beginning of my walk. My tummy and legs were ten times worse than this at the end of my walk. I didn't get into trouble though because it wasn't my fault. Ann's trousers were covered in mud too.

The trouble with getting this muddy is................ Ann has no easy way of cleaning me. We only have a shower, so very ocassionally she will take all her clothes off, and actually get in the shower with me. Today she knew that I was going to get muddy again on my afternoon walk, so she just towel dried me and told me to go into my bed for a snooze. And then do you want to know what she did?................... she put my towel on the radiator to dry so that when I came back from my afternoon walk (along the canal) it would be nice and warm for me.  How nice was that?

Both of my big walks were more than 4 miles, and I also had a 'first thing in the morning walk' so we've walked more than 10 miles today. I'm a bit sleepy now. I didn't bother eating my breakfast and I can't be bothered to eat my dinner atm. We got home at about 4.30pm and I've been snoozing in my bed ever since.

I'm a Collie and if I lived on a farm I could be walking 40 miles a day, rounding up sheep. Having said that.................... I'm a pet, not a working Collie, and sometimes Ann worries that she's walking me too far just because she's bored! I seem to need loads more sleep than 'MollyCollie', but maybe that's because I'm a smaller dog with shorter legs? Who knows? Ann has tried Googling, 'How do you know if you're walking a dog too far.' Google hasn't come up with very useful answers. Lol!

Oh well, ho hum, Ann wants to go shopping tomorrow, so apparently I won't be going on any big long walks and can have some peaceful home alone snooze time. Yay!
