Crow Silhouette

Another way-too-warm day with incredible 15 degrees C, but dark, foggy and drizzly.
After a quick grocery shopping stop, I went to see my mother and her carers for lunch and coffee. Like last week, the two carers didn’t talk to each other, because - after two years of getting along fine - they are now quarreling about pretty much everything.
Worse, this time both tried to talk to me alone, asking me to get rid of the other one. But without E, my mother wouldn’t have a permanent live-in-carer, and without Frau G, I‘d have to find and train someone else to do most of their shopping, driving, organizing (gardener, hairdresser, physiotherapy etc), and cleaning, or do it all myself - which would mean I‘d have to give up my job. So I told them both to get along with each other, because I can’t be the umpire in their fight. If they can’t work together anymore, they will both lose their jobs with my mother, because she’ll then need to go into a care home.

When I went back to my car after today’s visit, this crow sat in a tree and cawed at me. I hope it wasn’t a bad omen.
