2024 Thursday — Soft Yellow
We drove to Cambria this afternoon. I like to go there on Fridays normally because that’s the day of the farmer’s market, but we haven’t visited there in awhile because of construction here and rain. Our first stop was the Cambria Lodge Nursery. We were looking for yard art. It was several months ago, maybe even last summer, that we saw a big metal outline of a heart with the outline of a dog paw. We were drawn to it then and we are still. It hangs from what they call a “shepherd’s hook.” So today we purchased one for our yard. I‘ll get a photo of it posted here soon, but not today.
We also stopped at my favorite thrift store, re•create. It’s operated by some lovely people from the Vineyard Church. and we purchased not much but enjoyed our visit there looking and hunting. We stopped at the Garden Shed, which is a collection of little shops all in one place. I like to purchase greeting cards there. We also stopped at another store called “Granny had One.” They special in Corning Ware dishes. I’m looking for the clear glass lid that belongs with a small sauce pan. They didn’t have one, but it felt like accomplishment to have looked for it.
Our little adventure was very enjoyable. The view across the bay was spectacular. The air had a chill, so we tried to stay in the car or a building for warmth.
