Street Food

To Manchester this morning.

First stop, the hairdressers to have my hair cut. The session started with a hug, which was a first, but then M has become a friend.

Next stop the café at the Art Gallery, where I met up with another friend. That ended with a hug. We don’t normally do that either.

In between times, as I had an hour to while away, I had a walk around the city centre. It’s the Chinese, lunar, New Year this coming weekend. Lots of red Chinese lanterns were in evidence. And all along Market Street there was a Chinese street market. The Chinese community in Manchester is large and long established, and has grown significantly with all the troubles in Hong Kong. And amongst the 92,000 students who attend Manchester and Salford universities and MMU there are many from China. I didn’t try any of the street food as I was heading to lunch at the Art Gallery, but maybe next time.
