Kakanui again
Bean, L and I went to Kakanui for a walk around the point this afternoon. The weather stayed dry, but that is about all I can say in its favour.
It was high tide and the river mouth was filled with surf. There were a few gulls about and a handful of shags, but everything else was presumably sheltering until things warm up again.
Bean had a very busy time with all the interesting new smells. Fur seals were spread eagled on the rocks, just too far away for a photo. No swimmers, nor even any surfers were braving the 14C temperature. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, which suited us fine.
