Save Windermere

This afternoon our WI hosted a talk by the  zoologist, conservationist and award-winning campaigner, Matt Staniek. This young man has created the very successful campaign group to save Windermere from pollution. Here he is pointing at a photo of dead fish below the Near Sawrey wastewater treatment works. 

Last year he won the ‘Changemaker of the Year Award’ at the 2023 National Park Protector Awards in the House of Commons.
