Gadwall
As the lecture this afternoon is about the birds of our area it seemed appropriate to look for a bird blip.
The light was very poor so this was the best I could manage.
Although Gadwall are fairly common I have rarely blipped them. Here is the male with a dark bill and in front of him a female with an orange bill, although that is hard to see as it declined
to turn its head.
A plus was that whilst in the hide we heard a Bittern booming for the first time this year. Always an exciting moment.
