My morning walk.

Mild and cloudy here .I watched the surfers riding the wave there were quite a few opposite side of the pier also.i noticed scaffolding going up on the Lime kiln maybe repairs to the walls.it was erected 1814..plymouth limestone was delivered to the harbour.Harvery &Co of Hayle took over the harbour in1853 and also developed the trade from the kiln.in 1870.895 tons was burned and this continued into the 20th century. It finally ceased to be used in1920.the Kiln is unusual in Cornwall as its round in shape and has flat lintels over the draw tunnels rather then arches.thankfully it is now a listed building. This area is where a bat cave also is.the harbour owner wanted to build a boutique hotel in this area.last year mesh was put over the bat cave it was reported and it had to be removed being bat's are a protected species.
