The three sisters view in the blue mountains

We walked down to the shops, stopping at Aldi for peaches and apples, salad roll from a bakery, and at the Elephant Bean for coffee and a bowl of muesli with rhubarb and yoghurt. I found something to read in the little lost bookshop which had a selection of eclectic second hand books upstairs ( and new books downstairs plus a great selection of board games).
We walked to Echo point where the viewing point is for the famous three sisters. After consulting a rather long winded man in the information office who tried to explain which parts of the route were closed due to landslides, and suggesting we hire a car at which point it I kinda switched off, but smiled and nodded… so we set off to do the Prince Henry cliff walk and walked towards the Leura Cascades. We started chatting and walking with a Julie from Bristol , travelling solo for a year, who carried an umbrella, and told us about her haphazard approach to travelling around New Zealand for 2 weeks in a motor home, without any research. She’s writing a book on self help subject of how to be happy without having much money. And a blog called what on earth is she up to now on blogspot.com but I couldn’t find it when I tried to find it. We parted company as she was determined to reach Wentworth Falls, which we intend to see tomorrow. We stopped to eat our picnic, had a look around the village of Leura with lots of boutiques, shops and cafes along the mall.
We walked back along the cliff walk which seemed to have a lot more steps on the way back and took a short cut near the end. We stopped to eat giant apples from Aldi, and my feet were a bit sore as we got back having walked 10.8 miles, elevation 1624 feet.
