Oil landscape demonstration

Bianca's class was using coffee for a monotone painting. I found this challenging as the darker pigments were difficult to make without it becoming cloggy. However I enjoyed using the salt to great effect and have decided to use it on my turtle painting.

This evening's MAC was fun as we had a demonstration in oils by Graham. He only used 3 primary colours and titanium white, with no smelly dilute. We learned a lot about colour theory and planning a good layout for the picture. It was interesting how he used shapes to make the images and did not get bogged down in detail but built up the picture slowly. Inspiring with lots of transferable skills, though I doubt that I will be ready for oils for some time.
