Trixie's Adventures

Up the hill and through the Hermitage

I've had three walks today, but my best one, was when I went half way up Blackford Hill, and then through the Hermitage. It's one of my favourite Edinburgh walks. I didn't find any manky old balls today, but I did find quite a few nice sticks. The trouble with sticks is................... Ann lets me bring them home, but I'm not allowed to keep them in the flat. I have to keep them on the balcony. And then, when Ann thinks I'm not looking, she disposes of them. So actually, there's no point in me bringing them home!!

The rest of the day has just been frittered away.................... Since we came back to Edinburgh, just over a week ago, we have done absolutely zilch!! My human is soooooo bored........... In the past week, she's been to the dentist, been to the optician, car has had it's MOT and that cost her a fortune and she has a hair appointment booked for next week. ….........Can things get any more exciting?? Nobody seems to want to book our house in Cornwall, well that's a lie, cos we took a last min booking from today until Friday, but the overheads are so high these days that we're not going to make much money which is obviously impacting on our lifestyle. Ann likes her wine and I like my treats!!

Oh well, ho hum, it is what it is. We're not on the breadline yet. She put a message on one of the Edinburgh job FB pages yesterday, saying she was looking for work until the end of April and could do a 4/5 hour shift anytime/any days/any hours, refs available, etc, etc. My human has done sooo many jobs in the last 50 years and has got a wealth of experience, but not one single person has replied. ….......And no, she didn't say she was almost 65 years old. …......... And yet students put up posts saying how they're struggling with the cost of living/studies and they're inundated with replies and offers of places to work??? Totally understand that it's not real live people that are reading these posts, but my human really does need to get herself clued up as to what 'keywords' the algorithum people want!!!

Tomorrow, she's going to pop into some of the local charity shops and offer her services. AGAIN! She tried to volunteer at numerous charity shops in between the 'lock downs' and every single one (even the one's who had massive signs in their windows saying, 'Volunteers needed') said, 'just pop your CV in'. Well, my human hasn't got a CV (and she doesn't know how to write one to make herself sound more fabulous than she is) and why would you need a CV for voluntary work anyway???

You can tell my human is bored can't you. She's ranting and ranting and ranting.

I've had my dinner (and a carrot) and I'm back in my bed snoozing. And the news is still full of King Charles's cancer.........................

I think I'm going to be made to watch 'EastEnders' and 'Waterloo Road', then we might have an early night.

PS – Was supposed to be at a 'Ressie Ass' meeting tonight at 5.30pm. My human, Not me. Obv! But she had to go and pick up her car from it's MOT, so didn't make it as she had a £350 bill to pay and the car has other probs (that took a long time to discuss) so she's also got it booked in to have something else done in April (which will be another £200).

Owning a car is expensive and tbh she doesn't really need a car in Edinburgh. She doesn't really need one in St Ives either, cos we hardly ever go out of town. We need one to get down there though, I'm guessing we could always hire one. ….........Or I could get put in the 'hold' on a 'Logan Air' flight (Edinburgh to Newquay) for £50. In the big scheme of things, £50 isn't really a lot for transporting a dog from Edinburgh to Cornwall is it? It's only just over an hour…........BUT would it be scary for me?

PPS – My human has done another online ASDA order. It's arriving between 9-10pm. Think it's about the 5th online order she's ever done in her life, but it includes wine for her and dental sticks for me. Yay! Apparently there is no substitute for Andrex toilet rolls or Colgate toothpaste??? It takes my human about 2 hrs to do an online shop. She could drive to umpteen supermarkets and do a proper shop in less time. She's persevering so that when she is even more old than she is atm, life will be easy??!!

Happy Tuesday Evening.
