Light and dark

After a very stormy few weeks J and I ventured out for a leisurely walk. A favourite route brings us back through the Cemetery. At the entrance there is a very old, original, part of the graveyard, often we just walk past it, today we ventured in and wandered round the overgrown and neglected headstones. One told of a murder in the 18th century, with a little research I found out that the murder led to a huge manhunt and eventual public execution of two Irish navies in front of a crowd of 120,000 people, until then the largest ever gathering in Scotland.
