The postie's name is Mike. He loves Jess and dreams about moving to Portugal one day.

Lots of walking again today. Jess swam at every opportunity and Merry put all four paws in the water. We had a lovely visit from Joanna this afternoon and a walk around the woods, and then I cut back a riot of brambles which have somehow grown huge, unnoticed until the rest of the vegetation died back in the autumn. I have to tackle them now before it grows back and hides them again.

Tea has been made and eaten and I'm ready to go and sit by the fire. An early night, I hope.
