Freda, a funeral and the return of Ceddie
Today I went to Freda’s funeral. She was a relative of my late husband and babysat his first family. She was a force of nature who, at 98 years, played for the Xmas concert 2023 and ran a choir. She was way up on technology and spoke on her iPad with a grandson in California every morning. The funeral was joyous as we entered to a recording of Freda playing a medley of her favourites. One of her grandsons read her favourite poem, Robert Frost’s ‘Birches’.
Then I went down to Stonehaven to retrieve Henry’s Ceddy who had been inadvertently left behind on Friday. None of my children were attached to furry toys or particularly bothered if I went out and left them in the care of someone else. Not sure if I’ve failed somehow!
