Japanese Quince

Early days but the buds are beginning to grow on a rather straggly Japonica shrub just beside the Maxwell Park pond. 

The thorny shrub is best known for its colourful spring flowers, which can be red, pink or white.

The weather today has declined from just windy to very wet and windy ... really miserable now.
