Undecided Future

The helicopters are still landing on the hospital helipad just behind the houses across our street.

After many delays spanning a time from 2020 to now, the big hospital in our neighbourhood was (once again) supposed to move into its brand new buildings by the end of January 2024.  But, not really surprisingly, the date got shifted again, to "after March 2024", which doesn't sound like the most precise of schedules.  

The original plan proposed to demolish the old hospital buildings after the move, and make the place into a park. To quote their website: "The green space will serve as a recreational area for patients, visitors and neighbours." But even this plan ist now under discussion, as some politicians want to use the buildings as accommodation for refugees, or students, or both.

So the future of our neighbourhood hospital is everything but clear.
