Walking down Tobins Track …..
….. ….. ….. looking towards Brow Peak.
The mullein plants on the right are all self sown but it looked as though someone had planned it as a garden.
Another lovely summery day but strong gusty winds this afternoon. We walked up Tobins Track in the cool this morning and it’s been many jobs done this afternoon. Lots done!
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is Waitangi Day in New Zealand, the day when the Treaty of Waitangi was signed nearly 200 years ago, between Māori and settlers. Waitangi itself is full of tension right now, with the new Coalition Government about to bring one partner’s proposal to discuss the meanings of some of the Treaty, and the Opposition parties and some Māori people dead against it. It seems to me that those discussions should have been settled before Waitangi Day. Did this furore really need to happen?
