FOXY FATHER

Handsome in a rough, tough sort of way.
Father Fox looks more like a coyote.

With his silent cat-like walk,
He just sorta vaporizes near the den.
However, the kits, with their super sonic hearing,
Know when he's coming and make a mad dash to greet him.
Afterall, first one gets the food.

The little pups find him endlessly fascinating.
So they're quite happy to stand or sit near him.

He's not a big fan of the mushy stuff.
No snuggling. No way.

The master of the power nap,
Dad flops flat on the ground,
Closes his eyes, and
Remains motionless for about 10 minutes.
Then, he stands up,
Shakes. Turns and trots up the hill.
Ready to hunt again.

I captured this image at the family's new den.
About 1/2 mile away from our house.
The den is farther off the road with lots of trees in the way.
So, I'm not sure I'll be able to capture any images.

As for me.
It's been one fantastic ride.
