MONA museum in Hobart

We decided to visit the MONA art museum created by David Walsh who grew up in Tassie, dropped out of uni, gambled snd created this temple to “talking crap about stuff you really don’t know much about “. It’s a space of wonder and experiment. Well, I thought I would like to see it.
The ferry had various comfortable seating and sculptures of life size sheep which doubled up as seats too. The sailing took about 25 minutes, we did not bother paying for the ‘posh pit’ and on arrival you climbed 99 steps then descended a spiral staircase to reach the bottom of the museum which was underground. I used the Mona app to see information about each exhibit which was in close proximity. Some were ridiculous and others were slightly conventional. The memorable one was 76 porcelain sculptures of womens’ cunts, a room with 5000 white blank books, and falling drops of water which momentarily formed letters and a word.
It was as nice to get into the sunshine and sit on giant bean bags, and listen to live music, and have a beer.
We arrived back mid afternoon, and I browsed the shops, and bought a pair of Kathmandu shorts, and an orange ice breaker T-shirt both reduced to $69.
We ate Taiwanese food which was really delicious.
