Abandon Ship!
It was windy and rainy for Arlo's afternoon walk so we headed for Currie Woods where it is sheltered. On the way we passed my favourite donkey, which you can just about see poking it's head out of the shed, best place to be! In December I blipped this same field which was flooded, now it looks like there is more water in the boat than the pond. On our way back the donkey was out with its sheep pals eating hay, the weather had died down a bit.
Ms H is now off on holiday for a week and we took to her pals in Edinburgh to stay overnight as they are all flying to Amsterdam tomorrow. It's just as well as our power went off just before midnight and it is gales at the moment. When I reported it there were no faults logged, but when the text confirmation came through, the postcodes listed were ours and others down the line, which suggested it wasn't the substation. I went to see the spur near our house and the torch showed 3 lines coming in to it, 3 going west to the farms and hill, but the spur to the cottages on the road only had 2. There was a cable looking loose going down to the ground, but I kind of think that is a support cable which I've forgotten was fixed to the ground before or not. So not sure if the support cable pinged causing the spur wobble and ping, who knows but I reported that to them as a possible cause. Which means they might be up here with their truck soon and I better move the cars! I might not usually bother, but it's Mrs C's working from hom day tomorrow and trying to save her from going it to work! Ok ok, I also don't want to have to get up early and switch the generator on for her!
