Cruise ships back in Lyttelton

I don't quite understand how cruises have become so popular again. I thought we learned during covid that they were great incubators for infection. Covid may no longer be the threat that it was, but there are plenty of bugs of various sorts out there. Hopefully operators have developed better processes to improved hygiene on board, and contain any outbreaks of disease.
