Depressing

Is there anything more morale sapping than domestic travel within the US? Airports designed in another era, their restaurants, the cramped seats, the lineups, the security routine, the extra fees, the long walks, fellow travelers, the baggage reclaim, toilets designed for contortionists, the wait for taxis or Uber ….. total dehumanization. Managed to get on an earlier flight home but the excitement that I should have felt was dulled by the above.
