Confused Christmas Cactus

This Christmas cactus did already flower in November -  too early for Christmas - and now it’s flowering again, over a month too late. But still appreciated in this time of few flowers.

It’s a grey day, windy and drizzly. I visited my mother for lunch, and found her and her carers all unhappy and in a bad mood, just having quarreled about some domestic matters. 

After a few hours in this somewhat strained atmosphere, I went home, to find P in a bad mood, too. He had looked forward to his donkey feeding session, to find the donkeys gone. Someone else had taken them for a walk without informing P, who was left with the doubtful pleasure of shoveling donkey dung. 

To do something constructive on this strange day, I started pruning some bushes in the garden, which had suffered badly from the freezing rain a few weeks ago. An hour later, our compost bin was full, but the garden still doesn’t look any different. 

Tomorrow can only get better.
