Following on

Sunshine first thing and yesterday’s purchases at the garden centre ready to plant.
So we set to with a will, cutting back into the lawn to enlarge the bed and then planting the four patio roses. They were supposedly pot grown but when the pot was inverted the compost and the rose just fell out. Bare rooted plants sold in a pot - so they can charge more perhaps?
Anyway all safely installed in a mix of compost, John Innes number 3 and some garden soil.
Then onto a bit of weeding followed by five bags of home grown leaf mould as a top dressing. It was so warm we had coffee in the summer house.
As we were tidying away there were a few spots of rain and very dark skies.
