The Fisherman
Patience is a virtue that the Heron seems to understand only too well, as it sits apparently frozen in time on the bank, waiting for an unwary water creature to come within range.
About this time a year ago, I saw Herons collecting sticks to build their nest in the reedbeds on the Somerset Levels. Normally they nest in trees but on the Levels they will use reedbeds. This particular Heron seemed too engaged in the process of fishing to be interested in nest building, but who knows, maybe cupid is waiting just around the next bend of the river.
