On second thoughts

We called in to Summerland Farm on the outskirts of Alstonville, one of our favourite coffee shops and a source of fresh local produce. I photographed this interesting growth on the trunk of a palm tree. At first I was inclined to call it a collection of various kinds of fungi. But Rana warned that fungi do not usually have green colouring, and Google Lens identified it as a community of lichen.
