Edge of the seat racing

Here I am watching the closing stages of the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the second placed Toyota is trying to un-lap itself from the leading Audi R18 driven by Tom Kristensen in the pouring rain.

The race was intriguing and at times exciting, but sadly over shadowed by the death early in the race of Allan Simonsen from Denmark who was leading his class in an Aston Martin when he spun off. I have seen Allan drive several times in sportscar races and he will be sadly missed.

The race itself was ultimately won by Audi and by the car containing two of my favourite drivers Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen, supported by Loic Duval.

I was potentially going to try to blip the super moon, but it was cloudy (OK so I had fallen asleep before it got dark after staying up late on Saturday and getting up early today to watch as much of the race as I could.)
