Turn right, turn left, to the sea!!
Sometimes my human comes up with the weirdest of projects................... and I just have to go along with them....................
Today she said, 'Trixie, I've had a really good idea for your walk. Once we get out of our flat complex, lets turn right and then walk along the road and turn left and then walk to a right turning and then to a left turning, etc. We'll just keep walking right, left, right, left, right, left, until we reach the sea and then you can have a play.'
Mmmmmmm......................... I don't really care where I go for my walks, but it took us more than 7 miles to reach the sea and I was on my lead for all of that time. This project wasn't actually as easy as it sounds because Edinburgh streets aren't in a straightforeward grid. We ended up in some very dubious locations that we haven't actually explored before.
It was interesting, but Ann says that we won't be going back to the Dumbiedykes/Lochend areas of Edinburgh again. Apologies if any of you lovely Blippers live there, but she just felt as if a drug addict was going to leap on her and steal all her worldly goods. Not that she has any. Obv!
Eventually made it down onto the beach at Seafield. Yay! And the best thing of all................ as soon as I got onto the beach I found a manky old ball. Actually, it wasn't manky at all. It was a very lovely new ball. How fabulous!!!
We walked another couple of miles along the beach and up the road to the bus stop. When we got on the bus, I lay down in good dog mode and put the ball beside me. Ann picked it up and put it in her pocket incase it rolled down the bus. She said I could have it back when we got off the bus, but do you know what happened?........................ When we got off the bus, she'd completely forgotten that she'd said I could have it back, so I had to keep jumping up at her pocket to remind her. How clever am I?
We both had to have a lie down when we got back into the flat. Lol!
PS – If anyone is interested, we've put a screen shot of our route in extras.
PPS – The next time we do a big walk, we're going to go left/right to the sea. Lol!!!
PPS - I'd already had my normal morning walk before we set of on our project. We've probably walked about 12 miles today. No wonder we're both exhausted!!!
