What happens when you plan a quiet...

evening at home with sauna.

You find a leak and all hell breaks loose.

I first thought that Buddha had peed on the guestroom bed (he doesn't do that but he is getting old so you never know), but suddenly realized that there was water dripping from the roof.

First we called out insurance company for instructions, but as it is a general strike here today, there was none!

We called our neighbor L who in his world deals with lots of properties and renovations. He's very handy even if he's not in construction business. L and my husband then started to investigate where the water is coming from. They opened the wall and started to follow the water. When they reached dry they went the other direction.

First they suspected a pipe. Plumber was called. Then it turned out that the water is coming from above the pipes. He was cancelled.

I called the company who did the new roof. They came to inspect. They also thought it was coming from the roof somehow. The MD from the company came to inspect. They tore down more wall and the leak was found. The pipe was shooting up so it went into a piece of wood and insulation and came down from above the pipe.

The plumber was called again. He did a quick fix and will come back tomorrow for permanent fix.

All the bedding in the guest bedroom are wet and some permanently damaged as they can't be washed. The wall between our dining area and the guestroom is wet and will need to be taken down. The wall between the kitchen island and the outer wall is wet and will need to be taken down and fixed.

When the men finally left I had to wash the floor and the laundry is going like crazy. Also trying to place some furniture in other places to clear the area for investigation and  hopefully soon finally to build up again.

Our guestroom is drying. The bed is lifted upright so we can fit all sorts of stuff there. What a mess and what a load of extra work.

One more load of laundry to handle tonight. I am exhausted.

The plumber will be here tomorrow morning around 9.
