LIFE!!!

New for old

The beginning of February is so special - Imbolc in the Celtic calendar, St Brigid's Day, and Candlemas. It's the time when we remove all our Christmas greenery - the holly and ivy from the mantelpiece, and the wreath from the front door. It's also when I make a new St Brigid's Cross, using rushes from the garden. Here's one I made this morning, next to one from last year. Traditionally they were made the night before, on 31st January. You can read more about Brigid and her cross at this link

The weather has been good today, so Jess and I had a walk down by the river and around the fields, making the most of this time of year when the grass is short and the animals are indoors. After lunch I went for another swim and sauna :-)

Time for tea...
