A daily reminder

This hangs on the handle of a drawer in my study , where I can see it every day.   

The coin was issued, as the little label says (I bought it from a coin dealerl) to mark the UK's accession to the European Community in 1973.  

I have blipped it before, I know , but it is particularly apposite today, which is the fourth anniversary of the UK leaving the EU , something that more and more people now bitterly regret - as I have since the vote in June 2016 and which I worked to try and prevent, alas not successfully.
