While on my runs

By waipushrink

Often seen together

A Kawau paka (Little pied shag)is sharing with a groupof Kawau tui (Little black shag) the perches offered by a tree which fell into the lake during the storms of a year ago. Kawau tui are very gregarious, and only briefly and occasionally solitary. They gather with Kawau paka rather than be alone.

This group were seen at Te Wai Orea; others were still hunting food in the lake.

It was very warm for a walk, mostly in the direct sunlight.
