Inspired!
As the paintings of James Watt are being hung for the exhibition, work created by pupils inspired by them is arriving at the Beacon, and being exhibited elsewhere too.
These beautiful puffers are the work of P5, Moorfoot Primary School which held its own art exhibition this afternoon, with parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles out in force.
The pupils have been finding out about James Watt's paintings and exploring digitised images of them, and working in groups selected ones which they particularly liked, going on to create their own versions of them.
The artist also visited the Moorfoot exhibition and spoke to the pupils and their families, explaining, as he did at the Beacon, the difference between 'looking' and 'seeing', and the impact that difference can have. He told the audience how impressed he was by the work the pupils are creating.
We're looking forward to moving the Moorfoot artwork to the Beacon and seeing everyone there, at that other exhibition.
Well done P5!
