Grey Heron

There were 7 heron today. As I approached the entrance to the park they all flew to the gate. I got several comments from people who were cutting through the park. I think they are amazed to see so many together. The little female (pictured) seems to be back in control certainly on the slope she is. The chick can still put some of the adults getting too close but stays clear of the little female. There was a fair bit of crest flipping today but it stayed at that and didn't go further.. The male was at the clearing waiting. 
Lots of crows who got biscuits.
